....is a ten-year initiative of The Annie E. Casey Foundation designed to catalyze change
and close the gap and improve the life opportunities of families and children in four inner-city neighborhoods: Smoketown, Shelby Park, California, and Phoenix Hill.

The Network By The Numbers
Goals for 2006

More than 1,000 members of the Network - more new partners, more new
 benefits, more understanding of the benefit of participation in social networks.

At least 200 residents recruited into employment pipeline for partners including
UPS, Norton Healthcare, at least one new employer partner

At least 140 employed at UPS, Norton Healthcare, and new partners

At least 50 enrolled in workforce training or post-secondary education
Post-employment coach in place at Norton Healthcare -- focused on retention, career
advancement, and asset building among new employees

2 High School students chosen for UPS School to Work

30 Young adults engaged at YOU Center -- Completing GEDs, finding jobs, going on
to post-secondary education, trained as leaders, engaged in community

5 family, friend and neighborhood providers added to Child Care Partnership

At least 40 children in grades pre-K to 2nd in reading support pilot programs in four
MC target schools
